LA FONDATION HÔPITAL DE L’ENFANT-JÉSUS DE CARAQUET DÉPASSE SON OBJECTIF DE FINANCEMENT EN RECUEILLANT 635 307 $ ET ELLE VA ENCORE PLUS LOIN!

This amount was raised only 5 months after the launch of the major fundraising campaign entitled “Together, let’s support the people of our region in their fight against cancer.”

Caraquet, February 15, 2019 – The Fondation Hôpital de l’Enfant-Jésus announced today that it is increasing the objective of its major fundraising campaign because it exceeded all expectations by raising a total of $635,307, which is $35,307 more than the original objective.

The Foundation had launched its major fundraising campaign, whose objective was to raise $600,000, in the fall of 2018. The objective of this initiative, led by a dynamic team, was to modernize the oncology sector to improve care while increasing access, comfort and patient safety.

Today, the Fondation Hôpital de l’Enfant-Jésus announced new lead partners involved in its major fundraising campaign, which gave added momentum to the campaign: Fernand Rioux ($1,000), Normand Mourant ($3,600), Village de Grand Anse ($5 000), Village de St-Léolin ($6,000), a group of physicians ($25,908) and an anonymous partner ($100,000). During a festive ceremony, Joseph Lanteigne, Chair of the major fundraising campaign, addressed those in attendance to announce the new donors: “…Ladies and gentlemen, the commitments announced today add up to $141,508, which brings us to a total amount of $635,307 to date, or 106% of our overall objective of $600,000. Our objective was more than achieved, and the redesign of our clinic will become a reality! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to all our generous donors!”

Sharing the same excitement, the Chair of the Fondation Hôpital de l’Enfant-Jésus, Normand Mourant, added: “Given the community’s enthusiasm and the needs that remain to be filled, I am pleased to announce that it was suggested that we continue the campaign and we all agreed! Your great generosity allows us to go even further. I am extremely proud to announce that an additional $215,000 will be allocated to the purchase of equipment for the fight against cancer. Therefore, the revised objective of our major fundraising campaign is now $815,000. With what we announced today, we are at 78% of our objective of $815,000, which means that we have raised $635,307 to date.”

The Health Vitality Network is very proud of its partnership with the Foundation. « The improvement made to services at the Enfant-Jésus RHSJ† Hospital is in line with our strategy to develop optimal access to specialty resources and services throughout the Network’s territory, especially in rural areas. People from the entire community will benefit from it, in a health care facility close to where they live. The Network is particularly grateful for the generosity and engagement demonstrated by the population in the Caraquet area. » said Stéphane Legacy, Vice-President of Outpatient and Professional Services.

Impact on services provided

The $215,000 added to the major fundraising campaign’s objective will be used to fill other needs related to the fight against cancer, namely to purchase specific pieces of equipment. These pieces of equipment will be intended for the Medical Imaging Department and the Urology Clinic of the Enfant-Jésus RHSJ† Hospital. They will make it possible to improve diagnostic and follow-up services, which will translate into patients getting a diagnosis quicker and close to where they live.
