Did you know that the Foundation is an entirely local organization, whereas 100% of donations raised from the community are invested in our Hospital?

La Fondation Hôpital de l’Enfant-Jésus is inviting you to support its 2013 Annual Fundraising Campaign through the Northern Star campaign, sponsored by the Caisse populaire Acadie.

This community project is an opportunity to encourage people to participate in the achievement of better health care in our community.  Over the past 7 years, participation has been either by writing their name on mini paper Christmas tree in exchange for a contribution of $2, $5, $10, $25, $50 or $100. The Northern Star  is also a project that creates a magical atmosphere for patients and staff of our hospital by lighting various figurines during the Holiday season.

The purpose of the 2013 annual campaign is to purchase equipment for two separate departments. Firstly, funds raised will go towards the purchase of equipment to support the Oncology Department. This peninsula-wide department has been providing services to more than 2,000 people a year since 2006.  Secondly, the opening of the Emergency Department last April brought a great sense of relief to the entire community since its members now have access to emergency services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The administrators of the facility identified certain urgent needs to ensure community members receive optimal care.
